Here’s how I can help…

Emotional Support…

I’ll help you process all those feelings of sadness, disbelief, overwhelm, shock, and/or heartbreak. Of course, your attorney will listen at their billable rate of about $500/hour, but they’re in the business of the legal dissolution of marriage. They aren’t trained to help you deal with emotional impact of your divorce. They’re knowledgeable about the laws and proceedings in court. Let them do their job! And get the emotional support you need from an expert.

A Certified Divorce Coach will walk with you through the emotions, the legal process and the physical process of a divorce. They understand how working through this huge life change while still living your life can be challenging. Your attorney’s job is to dissolve the marriage, legally. While a therapist often diagnoses or focuses on mental health specific treatment. Coaching is goal driven and is often shorter in duration than therapy.

Mounds of Paperwork You’ll Face…

Therapists aren’t trained to help with legal paperwork. They can help with your feelings, but they don’t primarily focus on the process of divorce and all the paperwork you’ll need to provide.

A Divorce Coach knows what needs to get done, how to get it done, and how to keep things moving along. I’ll help you set achievable goals and get things checked off your list, so the process … and the healing … can move forward.

Your Kids…

How your kids will deal with this is probably one of your biggest concerns. I can help with how to tell kids … when to tell them, and how to best navigate their reactions.

I can help with how to share time with your kids, so they feel less “disrupted” and how to communicate with your soon-to-be-ex more effectively.

And most of all … how to keep your kids at the center without putting them in the middle! It’s unfortunate, but many times children are used as pawns in a divorce. My goal is to help you move through this process while keeping your children at the forefront of your mind, so you help them through and protect them from the process of divorce.

Life After Divorce…

Healing takes time. Just like after a surgery or even a fall from a bike ride, physical wounds take time to heal. Emotional wounds do too!

When you’ve taken the time to process, verbalize and express those hurt feelings with your Divorce Coach, you can heal from the wounds faster and easier.

There IS life after divorce! You may need to find your “new” self. Your new self may have a new address, new friends, a new parenting schedule or even a date.

And what you might not see right now is that you CAN emerge healthier, happier and stronger than ever!

Need help with one or more of these things? Schedule a confidential, complimentary coaching session with me. There’s no obligation.
